How is liposuction performed?

Dr. Yaker performs liposuction surgery ("lipoplasty") to remove excess fat from the abdomen, hips, backs, thighs, knees, calves, arms, and the chin and neck area. Typically, he will accomplish this by performing the ultrasonic-assisted liposuction (UAL) technique. The ultrasonic liposuction procedure involves the use of sound waves to break down and liquefy fat, before it is removed using a long, hollow tube known as a cannula. This technique allows for larger volumes of fat to be removed.
