The Obagi - Blue Peel
is an a quick, relatively simple and highly tolerable
procedure that in most cases can improve:
- Blemishes
- Acne scars
- Wrinkles
- Sun damage
- Uneven
pigmentation
Depending on how many
layers of the peel you receive, the peel can last
anywhere form 20 minutes to an hour. After the peel
you will have some light swelling, and in 2-3 days
your skin will begin to peel. The peeling will
continue over a few days and should be completely
healed in 7-10 days. Patients must pre-treat their
skin with the Obagi-Nu Derm system for 6 weeks prior
to having the Blue Peel.

Tretinoin (Retin-A)
and alpha-hydroxy acids:
Sloughs off dead skin, regenerates collagen and allows
the cells of the top layer of the skin to mature
normally. Alpha-hydroxy acids sloughs off dead skin
and thicken the underlying skin cells. Retin-A is most
effective in patients who have fine facial wrinkles or
sun-damaged areas that are blotchy or pigmented.
Facial wrinkling, skin tone and texture may be
improved by a Retin-A regimen.
Alloderm:
This is a long-lasting and sometimes permanent
solution for folds in the skin. Also used for Lip
Augmentation, Alloderm is a sheet of human collagen
fabric prepared from a graft of skin with no remaining
living cells.
Botox:
A small injection given to the site where a strong
muscle creates a wrinkle or furrow. The injection
weakens or relaxes the muscle. It is very effective in
reducing the appearance of forehead furrows, frown
lines between the eyebrows, and crows feet. Botox
injections take effect in three to five days, and last
up to six months. Some current evidence suggests that
repeated injections may lead to longer lasting
results.
Collagen
injections:
Collagen replacement therapy replenishes the skin’s
natural collagen support layer, smoothing facial
lines. It is also injected to enhance the lips as
well. The effects of Collagen are generally absorbed
by your body and usually requires several touch up
injections a year.
Glycolic Acid
Treatments:
Also known as “fruity acid” treatments can help
produce smoother skin for all skin types. This
treatment can also fade sun spots. Glycolic Acid may
be applied through a cream as a cleansing facial wash.
This is usually a home regime, often combined with a
higher strength Glycolic peel performed in the office.
