We perform the labia reduction surgery (labiaplasty, labioplasty) for women with enlarged, hypertrophic, or asymmetrical labia minora Some women are uncomfortable with their enlarged labia minora (inner lips) or labia majora (outer lips), which can lead to self-consciousness and discomfort with wearing clothing, exercising, or having sex. The enlarged labia minora and/or labia majora can have a protuberant and abnormal appearance that can be bothersome and embarrassing.

This cosmetic surgical technique of labiaplasty to reduce uneven, enlarged, or asymmetrical labia minora and/or labia majora to a more comfortable, and more natural size and shape. It is important to note that our specially developed reconstructive surgical technique of labia reduction is NOT simply an amputation or "trimming" of excess labia minora tissue, which might typically be performed for a labial reduction, and which would produce an unnatural and scarred appearance. Performing a specially developed surgical technique of labial reconstruction that preserves most of the natural contour, pigmentation, and sensitivity of the labia minora with minimal scarring. The labia reduction surgical procedure to the individual needs and expectations of the patient, as are discussed during the required pre-surgical consultation and thorough examination. In most cases, the labia reduction surgery is virtually undetectable after complete healing, and our patients have been extremely pleased with our truly amazing, beautiful, and very natural-looking labiaplasty results.

The surgery is usually performed under anesthesia to help the patient feel
more relaxed and comfortable. After the surgery, it is recommended to avoid
sex, tampons, and douching for six weeks.

Patients must have a pre-surgical consultation and thorough gynecological examination prior to the surgery. Individual needs and expectations are discussed at this time. Patients are individually counseled and educated on what to expect, including possible risks, benefits, and options.

The surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia (awake). Patients may choose conscious sedation to help them feel more relaxed and comfortable. General anesthesia is an option for some patients.

After the surgery, it is recommended to avoid sex, tampons, and douching for six weeks.

Patients should return to the office six weeks after the surgery for a follow-up exam.
